Dr. Vijay Chandru is a scientist, entrepreneur, and pioneer in precision medicine. After completing his PhD at MIT, he served as a professor at Purdue University and the Indian Institute of Science before co-founding Strand Life Sciences, India’s first academic-spawned biotech company. Recognized as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum, he has been elected fellow of both the Indian Academy of Sciences and the Indian National Academy of Engineering.

Beyond industry leadership, Dr. Chandru co-founded the OPFORD Foundation to advance affordable treatments for rare diseases and co-chairs the Lancet Citizens’ Commission on reimagining India’s health system. He continues to advise innovation councils, teach at IISc, and mentor emerging biotech leaders worldwide.
