Giovanny Acosta-Vélez is a Chemical Engineer graduate from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez and holds a PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from UCLA. As a researcher, he developed innovative materials for the direct 3D printing of pharmaceutical tablets, capable of operating at the patient's point of care or at drug dispense locations such as pharmacies and hospitals. This technology moved the personalized medicine field closer to the production of customized pills tailored to individual pathophysiology, optimizing drug selection, dosage, and combining multiple medications into a single tablet to simplify daily regimens.

With a strong foundation in pharmaceuticals, biomaterials, and scientific research, Giovanny has worked as a process engineer and research scientist in several companies. His entrepreneurial pursuits have led him to excel in the fields of 3D printing, medical devices, material sciences, and the synthesis of advanced 3D printable materials and biomaterials. As the founder of Velsta Innovations, Giovanny specializes in developing cutting-edge photocurable resins for DLP and inkjet 3D printers, with applications in medical devices and beyond.
